“Chris Brown turned himself in around 7 p.m. to one of our stations and is being interviewed by detectives now,” Officer Smith said.
According to law enforcement records, Brown, 19, was taken into custody at 6:30 p.m. and was officially booked at 7:41 p.m. for making criminal threats.
Brown posted $50,000 bail and was released.
TMZ reports that Chris Brown, scheduled to perform at Sunday’s Grammy Awards, has turned himself in to Los Angeles police:
We’ve just learned Chris Brown has just turned himself in to the LAPD.
Chris is being investigated by the LAPD for an alleged domestic violence felony battery that occurred early this morning near Hancock Park in L.A.
According to the victim, her and Chris got into an argument which became violent — and cops say the woman in question had “visible injuries and identified Brown as her attacker.”
The LAPD says Brown had left the scene by the time they arrived — and the identity of the victim is not released in domestic battery cases.
If the charges are true, I hope this ends his career. Be strong RiRi.

HATER ALERT
UPDATE:
Etta James tried backtracking on her criticisms of Beyonce and President Obama late Thursday. She told the NYDN:
“I didn’t really mean anything,” James said. “Even as a little child, I’ve always had that comedian kind of attitude. … That’s probably what went into it.”
Still, James acknowledged being miffed she wasn’t invited to perform her signature song for Obama’s first dance with his wife on inauguration night.
James said she was “feeling left out of something that was basically mine, that I had done every time you look around.”
