Thanks for this insightful account of Michael Jackson’s life and affect of his iconic music. I too, grew up in the exact times Michael grew up in..Michael was and is an extraordinary talent..his persona surpasses what his phenominal talent represented. He was passionate, compassionate loving, lovely, sensitive, caring,selfless,and extremely kind person. He not only is sadly missed, but his absence from the world can be felt everyday in every corner… continent to continent, country to country, city, suburb, rural, old, young, female, male…
He really loved us as his fans..I hope he knows how very much we loved him..

When I think of Michael, I think of the old Michael–the Michael I grew to love. Michael was human–he had feelings and flaws like the rest of us. His was just on display for the world to see 24/7.

I disagree. Sure there were some enablers to Michael’s behavior, but at the end of the day Michael was a grown-ass man. You can’t make people do what they don’t want to do. Period. Watch any episode of Intervention. Michael’s behavior and if its true drug habit was his. A person has to WANT to change.

I was in shock when I flipped over to MTV and saw them playing his videosâ€”Thriller of all thingsâ€”and then I saw some little blip of a scroll at the bottom. When I finally read the “he is survived by…” I was in disbelief. I still can’t believe MJ is gone.

I just want to think that genius is still around, and they’re doing these tributes just because of his musical genius, nothing else.

I will say this, though, there will never be another man like him, musically or simply as a human being with a big heart in so many ways.
