Mushy Monday presents: All About Eve

Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.
Okay, technically, this isn’t AA or even a romance movie. But I absolutely looooove this movie. Bette Davis, one of my old school favorite actress was excellent in this movie. But Anne Baxter is the one that brought it home. The sometimes sweet, most of the time conniving backstabbing assistant taught many women to be on guard about some folks you call friends.
Somebody que up The O’jay’s-Backstabbers.
Again, love, love, love this movie.

I’m a huge old movie fan, and this – Joseph Mankiewicz’ masterpiece – is one of the best. The best part about it: The dialogue. It just crackles throughout with a wit rarely seen in film. The fact that the lines are delivered by such a top-notch cast proves how good writing can make or break a movie!

I LOVE, LOVE this one, too!!! I’ve seen it dozens of times and it only gets better to me. Love Addison DeWitt.
