		<description>To say to black people that natural-textured hair is inapproriate or unsuitable for professional work environments is as insensitive as telling a disabled person that wheelchairs have no place in the office.

Regarding dreadlocks, I remember a time when they were a symbol of the Rastafarian religion.  Somehow, over the last 20 years or so, they became a fashion statement.  I&#039;m not a member of this religion, but if I were, I probably wouldn&#039;t be too happy to see a symbol of my lifestyle and worship habits turned into a fashion trend . . .</description>
